Yosi Samra Sample Sale

I’ve been looking forward to the Yosi Samra sample sale for weeks so instead of waiting for hours in the blazing heat at the other sample sales I opted to come here first. For those not familiar with the brand, Yosi Samra is well known for its line of foldable ballet flats that come in a rich variety of styles and colors. If you think that all foldable shoes are created equal you best think again. Unlike many competitors’ products, Yosi Samra flats feature sturdy soles. The split design allows for the shoe to be folded while providing you with just the right level of comfort. There’s none of that “I’m wearing paper” feeling when you walk in them. And let’s not forget about the aesthetics. The Samra flats are available in different styles like stud accents, chain ankle straps, cap toe and come in a variety of colors. (Disclaimer: this is not a sponsored post I just really like his shoes).
Held inside the Yosi Samra showroom in SoHo the sale was just as good as I could hope. There were true samples lining the small wall near the register. There were flats, flip-flops, and sandals for only $15! The only caveat being you had to be a size 6 or size 9. I spied a few 5s and 7s as well so it’s worth checking. There were also a few bins with samples below the shelf.

For everyone else there were $30 flats located along the back wall. The friendly staff was on hand to help you with sizing and to answer any questions. Unlike the samples most of these shoes had a much wider size selection (from size 5 to 11).

The bins lining the middle of the showroom floor were filled with more $30 flats as well as $25 flip-flops and $45 constructed shoes but only in size 6 or size 9.

Along the back wall was a small selection of $65 boots (mostly in darker subdued fall colors). Also available were $85 tote bags and $45 clutches.

BOTTOM LINE: Go for the flats! Seriously! They’re well designed, comfortable and fit in your purse. While you might be able to find comparable prices on Amazon or on some of the flash sale sites, the ability to actually try the shoes as well as the selection (especially if you’re a 6 or 9) is so worth it.

I stopped by a few other sales yesterday. Couldn’t resist checking out Madewell and thankfully the line wasn’t huge. I will be doing a spot check report on Friday so keep an eye out 😉
Later today: Info on price reductions at Marchesa (please follow me on Twitter and Instagram for up to the minute updates) and my report on Anna Sui’s moving sale.
