Busy Shopping Week Ahead.

The July Sample Sale list has been updated with nine new sales! Tuesday in particular looks to be a busy day, with Fivestory, Jack Rogers, and John Hardy moving sale all on the schedule. But wait, there’s more!
I have major scoop for you guys. The next sale to be held at C21 Edition will be Marc Jacobs in August!!! I know, I know we just had one at 260 Sample Sale. Now this is pure speculation on my part but I think it’s either going to be a Marc by Marc Jacobs liquidation sale (it was announced in March that the diffusion line will be phased out) or the label has finally taken pity on New Yorkers and these sales are becoming a regular thing. (Marc Jacobs has been holding public sample sales in London and Paris for years so about time NY gets the love). I don’t have any additional details or exact dates/hours at this point but I’ll keep everyone updated.

Today is also the first day of New York Restaurant Week which runs through August 14th. You can see the full list of participating restaurants in the preceding link. Any particular place that’s at the top of your list? Please feel free to share any recommendations, reviews, etc. in the comments section. I’m looking forward to dining at Nougatine at Jean-Georges. My absolute favorite last winter was A Voce Madison (lunch only).

Anna Sui boutique that called Green Street home for the last 23 years has shuttered its doors this past Friday but don’t worry. The new store at 484 Broome St. will be opening very soon.

The final day of Proenza Schouler sample sale at Century 21 ended with a bang and there were bargains galore. Just wanted to share my belated recap 😉

I arrived late in the afternoon to find the place abuzz with shoppers eager to grab the last minute bargains and bargains there were! Everything was extra 30% off and it actually stacked with earlier discounts like $49 scarves and shearling pouches. The best bargains were: Scarves in cashmere/silk/wool for $34 (originally $450-$480), X Bon Marché canvas totes for $42 (originally $595), and Shearling zip pouches were also only $34. Other accessories like keychains were now $21, bracelets $29, X Bon Marché PS1 wallets $69. Ready to wear still remained pricy but I got lucky and found another magic $69 item 😉 Jeans were a good deal starting at $21 although the paint splatter styles could have used more discounts. Black denim jackets remained untouched even at $69. Kind of a shame they weren’t more discounted.

The best part of the sale though was running into Msleecube. She was such a doll and it’s always a pleasure meeting a fellow sample sale enthusiast 🙂

Scarves $34
Totes $42
X Bon Marche wallets $69
Flats for $69
All these for  $110!
