Century 21 Clearance – Take Two.

Ready. Set. Action!
After receiving a much welcome heads-up from a helpful sales associate last week, I headed to Century 21 this past Friday, in search of further markdowns. (You can read my report from last Tuesday here). When I arrived at the downtown location I immediately spotted the 65% off tags on select merchandise.
So what’s changed? What got marked down and what stayed the same? Read on below:
EXTRA 65% OFFClothing only
– Lanvin
– Rochas
– Michael Kors
– Haider Ackermann
– Ann Demeulemeester
– A.F. Vandevorst
– Giambattista Valli
– Jean Paul Gaultier

EXTRA 50% OFFClothing, swimwear, and select accessories
– RED Valentino
– Missoni
– Dolce & Gabbana
– Emilio Pucci
– Burberry Prorsum
– Agnona
– Brunello Cucinelli
– Moschino
– A few contemporary designers like Misha Nonoo, Paul & Joe Sister, Custo Barcelona.
– Designer swimwear (Pucci and Moschino)
– Missoni headbands
– Sneakers (small selection of athletic footwear)
– Most contemporary designers like DVF, Tory Burch, Marc by Marc Jacobs, and The Kooples.
– Accessories like handbags, scarves, hats, and jewelry
– Shoes
– Designer Swimwear (Fendi, Lanvin)
– Hosiery and Intimates (including Wolford)

(There were many more brands in all three categories that I haven’t listed but you guys should have a general idea of the way the discounts look now).

Checking the display cases with designer handbags I saw that the Lanvin JL Bowling Bags did not receive additional discounts and were still there at $466 (1/3 off). The downtown location had a wider selection with black and exotic versions.
Handbags were still only 33% off
Lanvin jewelry about $288
Kate Spade jewelry $30 bangles
Pearl necklaces, bracelets, and sets
Lanvin headbands $89
Missoni headbands $35 ( 50% off )
Wolford tights $12
Hermes panama hat $260 (Retail $775)
Can never have too many socks!

On the third floor, the European designer section was hit with much welcome price cuts. Arranged by size from XS – XL were assorted designer tops, bottoms, and dresses at additional 65% off Century prices.

Rochas silk jacket $244 (Retail $2,075)
Racks of assorted extra 65% off items
Lanvin blazer $398 (Retail $2,831)
Lanvin snakeskin jacket $1,640 (Retail $11,876)
Michael Kors snakeskin coat $2,670 (Retail $30,405)
Gaultier leather pants $265
Haider Ackermann leather jacket $440 (Retail $3,212)
Lanvin blouse $140 (Retail $1,029)
Lanvin embroidered blouse $733 (Retail $5,276)
A.F. Vandevorst trousers $87 (Retail $885)
Towards the back, the racks that were arranged by Designers were additional 50% off. Some, like RED Valention and Missoni remaining unchanged (price wise), while Burberry Prorsum being marked down from 33% to 50%.
Burberry Prorsum leather jacket that I found last week for $772 is now $579 (Retail $4,995)
Burberry embellished tee $115 (Retail $995)
Agnona is about $10 – $30 (based on item) more expensive than their sample sale last month
Comme des Garcon skirt $249 (Retail $1,970)
Racks of long dresses and gowns
No signature prints on the Pucci clearance rack
Pucci dress $250 (Retail $1,390)
Pucci silk top $130 (Retail $750)
Pucci denim $65 (not bad but if you’re buying Pucci, denim shouldn’t be at the top of your list)
Moschino dress $214

Most of the contemporary designer collections remained unchanged, price-wise. But there were a few exceptions like Paul & Joe Sister, Hoss Intropia, Misha Nonoo, and Custo Barcelona.

Tory Burch is more expensive than the Clothingline sample sale
Paul & Joe Sister and a few other designers at extra 50% off
Nonoo sweater $45 (Retail $225)
Nonoo silk dress $99 (sample sale pricing, although Clothingline’s upcoming sale should have cheaper offerings so I would hold off until at least the end of the week.)
On the fifth floor I saw designer swimsuits, cover-ups, and towels. I loved the Fendi selection in signature stripe but alas I couldn’t justify the $300 price tag for a bra top. Pucci towels ($500) didn’t seem to be part of clearance even though they were hanging next to Moschino towels that were 1/3 off ($50). I spotted cheap Lacoste towels (< $20) that would be perfect for the current beach weather we’re enjoying right now.

Pucci swimsuits $86
Fendi swimsuits $73 for plain bikinis to $306 for more elaborate styles
Lanvin onepiece $266 (Retail $880)
Fendi colorblock swimsuit $199
Fendi cover-up/maxi dress $620

Downstairs in the shoe department prices remained unchanged. According to one of the staffers they are in the process of marking down the clearance shoes and you should expect to see those 50% off stickers starting this Monday. Although it could take until Friday for everything to be marked down. As I will be spending a good portion of next week scouring the upcoming Proenza Schouler sample sale, I’ll be sure to keep tabs on all the markdowns.
Hermes sandals and booties $732
Fendi sandals $293 – $326
Love these Fendi heels….but $399 🙁
I think its the first time I spotted Louboutins but at $480 (orig. $670) and not on clearance…..pass

BOTTOM LINE: Discounts are getting much better but I am still waiting for extra 75% off. There are a few investment pieces from Lanvin, Rochas, and Haider Ackermann that may be worth heading over ASAP but otherwise patience is key for a true bargainista 😉

Love this write up, it felt like I browsed the store. The Haider prices seem cheaper than it was at the sample sale! Btw: my sister wants to know how much the door sandals were you posted on Instagram… Lol

Thanks for reading 🙂 The Belgians are much cheaper now, around 86% off retail but I still kind of hope something lasts until +75% off hits.

They were $266 at the uptown C21 but I only saw small sizes (5-5.5)
