Italian heritage brand, WP Lavori held their first ever NYC sample sale this week. The retailer that opened its first US store in Brooklyn only a year ago features labels such as Woolrich, Baracuta, Spiewalk, BD Baggies, Golden Fleece, and Avon Celli. I stopped by last evening to see what was on hand.
The venue was very quiet and dark (sorry for bad lighting in photos) with only a handful of shoppers perusing the racks. Majority of the inventory consisted of outerwear from Woolrich, Baracuta, and Spiewalk for both men and women. Sizes ranged from Small to 3XL. Women’s Baracuta jackets started at $95 and topped out at $350 for leather. You can see the price list below for the full breakdown. Gentlemen also had a wide selection of button downs and dress shirts ($38) from BD Baggies as well as t-shirts ($30) and shorts ($35) from Woolrich. Plastic bins in the back of the room held miscellaneous accessories like belts, hats, scarves, and bags that were priced $25 – $35.
BOTTOM LINE: The sale offered a good selection of functional cold weather outerwear for men and women at about 80% off retail. Woolrich hooded parkas usually retail for $800-$900 and here they were only $135 – $175. Today is the last day of this four day sample sale so if you are in the area and in need of a winter jacket definitely try to stop by.
