‘Tis the holiday season and that means time for shiny, sparkly things. Looking at our December sample sale calendar you’ll notice that there are quite a few jewelry sales happening this month. First up on the agenda is Gerard Yosca. The New York City based designer is hosting a two day cash only event inside his Garment District showroom. His jewelry is designed and made by hand in NYC using custom made stones and models created from scratch or produced from wax or metal. Gerard Yosca is a long standing member of Council of Fashion Designers of America and has been a trendsetting force in the fashion jewelry industry for more than 30 years.
I arrived last evening to find unbeatable bargains on costume jewelry. Besides his own eponymous line, Gerard Yosca Jewelry Inc. also manufactures jewelry for many popular chain retailers and catalogues like Banana Republic, White House Black Market, Coldwater Creek, and more. If you’re looking for stocking stuffers, hostess gifts for the girls, or just a good bargain you might want to start with the boxes along the back wall. Prices on this type of jewelry started as low as $1! Yes just $1 for stretch enamel flower bracelets, wood and bead bracelets, $3 for tons of earrings and rings, $5 for select bracelets and necklaces, $8 for hinged bangles, $10 for pattern enamel bangles, pearl necklaces and more. Now granted unlike the Yosca Collection pieces these are all cheaper jewelry items that are made in China but if you were to buy them in say Banana Republic you would probably end paying $20-$40.
For current collection jewelry from Gerard Yosca’s own line start with the tables along the left wall as you enter the showroom. There are flyers along the entire wall with photos of particular styles, their retail value and their sample sale price. For example a statement necklace retailing for $375 is now $125, another piece that was $305 is now only $100, pendant drop necklaces are super cheap at just $25-$35. Small collection earrings are $25 (retail $60-$100), medium size earrings are $50 (retail $100-$160), past season collection necklaces ranged from $65-$80 (retail $250-$500), and so on.
BOTTOM LINE: Jewelry starting at $1! Need I say more. Prices for Gerard Yosca made in the USA collection pieces were not too shabby either. Older season collections in particular offered steep savings. So what are you waiting for? Grab a jewelry tray and start shopping as today is the final day. Also don’t forget that the sale is CASH ONLY so be sure to stop by an ATM on your way there.
