Rachel Zoe Blowout Sample Sale Is Everything!

Tuesday, May 24, 2016

Clothingline is currently in the midst of hosting a two day blowout sample sale featuring apparel from Rachel Zoe. The great thing about this particular sale is that it does indeed live up to the hype. The discounts are over 90% off retail and prices start as low as $15. Too many venues like to advertise their events as "blowout" or "priced to sell" only to disappoint their customers with expensive tags and underwhelming discounts. So what defines a blowout sale in my book? Well it's easy.......it has to be at least 90% of with prices under $100 and the Rachel Zoe sample sale fits the bill!

I arrived just before opening to find a small group of eager shoppers waiting to pounce on the bargains. The organizers sent out an email the night before advertising the savings so people knew what to expect. I met up with friend and fellow blogger Le Hoarder and we quickly made our way to the second floor. I headed towards the back to check on the samples section but found that they were priced the same as stock so you're better off skipping these racks. As for the overstock, prices started at $15 for tees, $20 for bottoms, tops were $20, short dresses $30, long/embellished dresses/jumpsuits $60 and leather/suede  $109. With the most expensive items being under $110 it means that you won't have to pay tax, making these deals even more enviable. You may recall that there was another Rachel Zoe sample sale only a month ago. By the final day of that sale prices had dropped to exactly what they are today so you are essentially getting a second chance to shop last month's sample sale. Check out the gallery below for a few examples or scroll down for photos from inside the sale.

PRICE LIST
Tees $15 | Tops $20 | Sweaters $25 | Skirts/Shorts/Pants $20 | Rompers/Short Dresses $30 | Jersey Gowns/Jumpsuits $40 | Blazers $40 | Dresses/Gowns/Jumpsuits $60 | Leather/Suede Bottoms $60 | Coats/Ponchos/Feather $60 | Leather Jackets $109

As you can imagine leather jackets were the most popular items and the first group of shoppers  managed to snag all the goodies. The selection favored larger sizes with all leather pieces being size 8 and up. Le Hoarder picked up a great Studded Black Leather Jacket which you can see on her blog. I found a cute Cropped White Leather Blazer (3rd photo) but it had a funky leather smell and I opted to pass. While the leather may be gone there are still plenty of bargains to be found. I spotted lots of sparkly sequin dresses like Mycah Dress $60 (retail $795). Rachel Zoe's signature jumpsuits were available in black, red, navy, orange and priced $30-$60. There were pearl embellished dresses and jumpsuits, one-shoulder silk summer dresses, rompers, skirts, tees, sweaters, and much more. These cute It's Everything t-shirts were only $15. I also spotted brown suede pants for $60. Being petite I realized that most items would require heavy alterations since Rachel Zoe's line is cut for the tall skinny girl but I still managed to find some deals amongst short dresses and tops. All merchandise was organized by size (size 0-12) with the larger sizes in particular having the best variety and more coveted styles. The samples racks were located all the way in the back, past the dressing room. As I've mentioned earlier that with prices being the same as stock there was no incentive to shop these often damaged or unfinished garments. A communal dressing room is available for the duration of this sale.

BOTTOM LINE: The sale ends today so be sure to make your way over as soon as you can. Savings of over 90% off don't come quite as often these days, be sure to take advantage while you can. Happy shopping!
