Weekly Shopping Guide

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a lovely and relaxing weekend. I am back in New York after celebrating my birthday in style in Hong Kong 🙂 It has been an amazing trip and I’ll be talking all about my adventures (that even included a sample sale!) in the soon to launch travel diaries section of the blog. Now I’m just ready for a brand new week of fun in the city, are you?

First up we have arguably the biggest sample sale of the year coming up later in the week. I am of course talking about Hermès. Their annual sales are pretty much the only way you can hope to save on signature luxurious designer scarves and accessories. Last year discounts were 60% off retail (mind you that’s almost unheard of for Hermès) and this sale promises similarly incredible deals. Now for some bad news 🙁 I was informed by one of Soiffer Haskin sale associates that there will be no bracelets this year. This is absolutely devasting news as jewelry is one of the main reasons that many are willing to wait as long as 8 hours in line. Several other acquaintances have also confirmed that they were given the same information by other Soiffer SAs. A sort of consolation is that there will indeed be scarves so not all hope is lost. Although per the aforementioned Soiffer employee, her advice was not to bother because in her opinion the merchandise is not worth the substantial wait times. All this sounds rather discouraging but I would still wait until Wednesday evening when the info from VIP day begins to trickle in. Either way be prepared for excruciatingly long lines and if history repeats itself don’t even bother showing up after 9am.
As for the rest of this week’s sales we have quite a few athleisure and sportswear events. Clothingline is hosting their first Bandier sample sale starting this Tuesday. You might recall that the brand’s first-ever sale at 260 a few months ago sold out fairly quick. Meanwhile on Wednesday, 260 Sample Sale are hosting the semi-annual Soulcycle sample sale in SoHo with savings of up to 40% off retail. Despite the somewhat low markdowns this sale draws enormous crowds of die hard fans so please come prepared. Over at their main location you’ll be able to stock up on some California cool loungewear and basics from James Perse. Please check out my reports from their past sales here and here. Starting today head over to the Chelsea Market for Hanky Panky three day warehouse sale. Stock up on initiates and sleepwear at up to 75% off retail. Elie Tahari warehouse sale is back starting this Tuesday but you can drop by their VIP preview today. I usually don’t list VIP hours but these invites are sent to all email subscribers and there’s no name checking at the door. Please read my reports from the last few sales here and here for more details. If you have a little one then you might want to spruce up his or her wardrobe at this week’s Bonpoint sample sale. Starting this Wednesday you’ll be able to save up to 60% off retail on children’s European designer apparel that’s popular with many celebs. Jewelry lovers head over to Thomas Laine showroom for their biggest sample sale yet! The discounts promise to go as high as 80%-90% off retail and will include popular labels like Ben Amun, Kenneth Jay Lane, Erickson Beamon, and many more. If your in the market for evening gowns then check out Shelly & Renee‘s two day sample sale featuring dresses and gowns by Lanvin, Oscar de la Renta, Giambattista Valli, and more. On Friday close out your week with Gilt City Warehouse Sale. The event returns to The Altman Building with tickets starting at $25 for Friday preview and free for Sunday admission. Cheers to another great week and happy shopping!
