A Gift To Remember – JORD Watch

Wearing my JORD watch with MODO mirrored sunglasses

Happy weekend beauties! Most of you are familiar with my accessories obsession as well as my undying love of some good arm candy. And of course nothing completes a well stacked wrist better than a statement timepiece. Which is why I was thrilled when JORD reached out to me and sent one of their lovely watches for a review. The St. Louis based company creates unique and stylish wooden watches that will not only add a spark to your accessories wardrobe but also make for a very special gift.

I am one of those people who’s always running late so wearing a watch is as much a necessity as it is a fashion statement. Between all the sample sales, previews appointments, and various blogger events I’m glad to be able to simply glance at my wrist and not having to dig around for my phone. JORD timepieces utilize the Swiss arm movement so I know that I can rely on their precision but it’s their design aesthetic that fully appeals to me. I chose the Frankie 35 series in dark sandalwood and mint. I feel like this combination gives a nice pop of color without overwhelming your look and it’s always fun to pair it with my other bracelets and rings. My watch was customized to fit my wrist and I love  that the handcrafted wooden band feels so lightweight. The best part is that buying a watch like this won’t break your wallet. Prices range from $139 to $295 with free international shipping and 1 year limited warranty.

My favorite part is stacking the arm candy! Here I’ve paired my JORD watch with a classic Hermes clic-clac bangle and a David Yurman cable bracelet.

My watch arrived just in time for Mother’s Day which is a very special holiday for me. As cliched as it may sound but my mom is my best friend. She taught me everything there is to know about fashion, style, and of course shopping. She took me to my first sample sales where I incessantly complained about why we can’t simply shop at the Mall like all the “normal” people lol Oh yes! You’ll be surprised to learn but as a child and teen/tween I actually didn’t like shopping. When my mother tried to explain to me what an amazing deal it is to find a pair of Yves Saint Laurent sandals for $20 I countered with things like: “But you could get the same price at Payless!” or “All my friends wear Steve Madden, why are you trying to make me wear some brand none of them even heard of“. Yeah the list goes on, frightening how far I’ve come lol but I can’t thank my mom enough for always trying to teach me despite my stubborn ways and whiny nature. To this day I know that I can always rely on my mom and she even obliged me as my very own personal photographer for this photo shoot! That’s why I’m so  happy to be able to share this gift with her!
