The only thing better than a sample sale is a beauty sample sale! According to this article I apparently qualify as a millenial and that’s all the excuse I needed to justify my skincare and makeup obsession. Whether you are a millenial or not really is irrelevant because this week’s JKNLEE sample sale hits all the right notes that any savvy bargainista longs to hear. All items are priced at $10 or less (some as low as a $1), the discounts go as high as 90% off retail, and you’re actually getting some quality beauty products. JKNLEE is a sister store to Club Clio and its newly expanded Chinatown store has been open since 2016. This time though the organizers decided to relocate their annual sale to a more hip location in the West Village but don’t worry, the great discounts that you’re used to seeing remain unchanged! The sale offers the biggest selection of Dr. G skincare products to date as well as the usual suspects: Peripera and Clio makeup, Goodal skincare, and Soo Ae sheet masks.

Last Friday I headed to the city to check out this week’s sample sale. The new location certainly had me curious and I wanted to see what kind of products would be on offer this time. The venue certainly had that Village vibe: there was a DJ spinning records, a cute chalkboard outside the door, brick walls decorated with posters and stickers. Most importantly of course there were lots of bargains in skincare and makeup department. For starters this sale offered the widest selection of Dr. G skincare products than any previous JKNLEE or Club Clio sample sale. Prices started as low as $5 for men’s products, some were included in 3 for $15 or 3 for $20 deals while the rest were priced at flat $10. My Holy Grail Peeling Gel was unfortunately nearly sold out but I managed to snag the last few boxes. There was still plenty to choose from: think cleansers, toners, SPF, essence, gel creams, heavy creams, eye creams, and more. My favorite find was the Hydra Volume set that includes a battery operated face massager and cream (retail $75) now only $10. This brand is sold at Nordstrom where you can expect to drop as much as $50-$100 per product! At the sale of course everything is close to or over 90% off. It’s worth noting that the expiration dates are not as good as I had hoped. Many products expire either this Fall/Winter or next year. Only buy what you plan to use now……..no hoarding!
Moving on to makeup, which was overly abundant yet again. Starting with 3 items for only $3 you can get some cute Peripera and Clio eyeshadow singles, eye pencils, lip products, nail stickers, and more. The more popular items like Peri’s Ink lip stains and Clio Art blusher were priced at 3 for $5 which is still an amazing deal! Especially the Peripera lip stain and hand cream sets and Clio makeup brushes. Towards the end of the store you’ll find face products like Clio professional All That Cover BB Cream set with a foudation brush for $10. Dr. G sun cushion was only $5 and even included a refill but only comes in one shade.
Towards the back and along the wall you’ll find more skincare from Goodal and Soo Ae including the often raved about Donkey Milk cream. A true bargain for only $10 ( retail $50). Sheet masks were priced at 3 boxes for $10. Overall if you’ve shopped past Club Clio sales you’ll be familiar with this selection. Waterest, Double Bright, Moisture Barrier, Pore Refine lines were all present. Take a look at the image gallery below for more photos from inside the sale. I was told that there will be no restocking so if you want those better skincare deals go now, otherwise the sale runs through Saturday.
